Ever Wanted To Be A Mermaid?
Additional Info

Byron Bays local mermaid Kazzie Mahina is a talented water women, free driver (Breath hold time of 5 minutes and 4 seconds), YouTube star and professional dancer. Mermaiding is a metaphor for Kazzie expressing environmental awareness and connecting her to the natural underwater world, and a great opportunity to catch some rays.

Growing up on the south coast of New South Wales, Kazzie would spend all her spare moments at the beach and in the ocean as a kid. Kazzie Studied at the prestigious McDonald College of Performing Arts in Sydney where she graduated to become a professional dancer. Traveling and performing around the world Kazzie migrated to Byron Bay. Trading her short board in for a longboard, after falling in love with the perfect right handers… Longboarding seemed to merge both her love of dance and of nature into one.

Kazzie created her own 'Merfin' design which lead to her new project Oceanika Merfins. The focus for Kazzie is about sharing her love of the water and conservation with children. So for all of you that 'ever wanted to be a mermaid' at heart, you can swim with the fishes too! Beginning in November, Kazzie and the ‘beautiful wave makers’ at Oceanika are set to have many beach clean ups and mermaid carnival events over summer 2011-2012.
