Hmmmmm, I’m more dubious of this slogan than I was when it appeared in the media in 2001. Don’t get me wrong, I am attracted to the taste sensation of chocolate as much as the next breathing person, it is just the ability to help your body function and rest that I doubt!
What I have no doubt in, is the ability of Korean ginseng to do those things!
This special herbs botanical name is Panax ginseng, Panax steming from the greek use of ‘cure-all’, and ginseng is the word the Chinese uses to describe the persons essence.
Excited yet? Probably not, so let’s get to the fun stuff!
Korean ginseng is what we herbies call an ‘adaptogen’, in short, that means herbs with this action have the ability to adapt the way we respond to stress. So instead of freaking out when we simply can’t get out of work on time, or throwing some type of tantrum when things get too much, we are able to put things in perspective better.
Personally, I think that something this cool should be put in the town water!
Korean ginseng can also help boost your immune system (fantastic for you busy bees out there!) and gives your liver a bit of help (perfect as we head into the summer afternoon beer season!).
It is considered an antioxidant (forget the botox!) and what is cool, cool, cool is that there are clinical trials to support its use in CANCER PREVENTION. That’s right, the “C” word.
What’s really important is that Korean ginseng, like so many herbs (‘sigh’, as I think of all my favorites), don’t actually do the work for us, they help provide the optimum conditions, so that our AMAZING bodies can do what they need to do – Work, Rest and Play!!!!!
Of course, it is important to speak to a naturopath or herbalist about Korean ginseng, and/or any other herbs, you decide to take, and the good thing is that there are many people out there passionate about increasing your health and well being so that you move from being ‘not sick’, to really WELL.
They will educate you and assist you to move your body into a state of wellness.
Power to the People!!!!!!!!!!!
