Kelia Moniz (HAW) has won the SWATCH Girls Pro China 2012 hosted by Wanning over Chelsea Williams (AUS), claiming her maiden ASP Women’s World Longboard Title. The pair repeated history by meeting in the Final as they did at last year’s SWATCH Girls Pro China, where Williams won, but today it was Moniz who took top honours.

The stakes are high with the event winner being crowned 2012 ASP Women’s World Longboard Champion. The SWATCH GIRLS PRO China is hosted by Wanning, on the southeast coast of Hainan. Featuring a coastline of over 100 kilometers, Wanning is home to a range of fantastic surf spots that come into prime season from October until March, when consistent NE swells from the South China Sea hit the region. With countless headlands and bays along the coast, there are a variety of pointbreaks, reefs and beachbreaks on offer, and with a relatively short surfing history in China, there are sure to be virginal waves waiting to be discovered.

ASP Women’s World Longboard Champion To Be Crowned In China Again

The world’s best female longboarders are preparing to compete for the coveted ASP Women’s World Longboard Title for the second year in a row at the SWATCH Girls Pro China 2012 hosted by Wanning. Last year’s event saw the athletes take on the long left handers at Riyuewan Bay, Hainan Island at the historic first ever ASP event in China. This year’s SWATCH Girls Pro China will be the standalone event on tour for the women’s longboarders with the event winner being crowned ASP Women’s World Longboard Champion.
