Favorites to take out the event include the likes of Lindsay Steinriede (USA), Jennifer Smith (USA), Ophelie Ah Kouen (REU), Kassia Meador (USA) - the top four surfers in the rankings.
The exciting, cosmopolitan field sees representation from all across the globe, with eight different ASP regions represented down to equal 9th position in the rankings, including Justine Dupont (FRA), Karina Abras (BRA), Estitxu Estremo (ESP), Megan Godinez (HAW), Rosie Locke (AUS) and Roxy Towill (ZAF).
“Mathematically, everyone in the event still has a chance at the 2011 ASP Women’s Longboard World Title,” said ASP’s Al Hunt, “But, the favourite would probably come from one of the girls ranked in the top 9 spots.”
Stay tuned for event swell forecasts as China prepares to host the some of finest longboard surfers on the planet.
This event marks the second partnership between women's surfing and Swatch, which already sponsors the SWATCH GIRLS PRO France, ASP 6-star women’s event.
